Originally established in 2011 at Springfield Primary Academy, Twist and Flip was founded by Nicky Nicol, a passionate gymnast from a young age who proudly represented Yorkshire in her competitive years. Inspired by the sport’s impact on her own life, Nicky was determined to provide the same opportunity for her own children, and from that spark, Twist and Flip was born.

What began with just 20 children in a school library has since grown into a well-established gymnastics venue, now based at our purpose-designed facility on King Edward Street, Grimsby. This is our largest and most advanced venue, fully equipped with Gymnova apparatus and designed to support gymnasts at every stage, from their first forward roll to more advanced skills.

Open six days a week, our Grimsby venue offers a wide range of gymnastics programmes for different ages and abilities. Recreational classes are run separately from competitive British Gymnastics-registered activity.

Nicky’s mission has always been clear: to get as many children as possible involved in the sport of gymnastics, building confidence, strength, and a love for movement in a fun and inclusive environment. That same passion continues to guide Twist and Flip today.
